The Rossetti Valentini School of Fine Arts hosts American photographer, Jill Mathis, for a two-day workshop where participants will explore ideas and the importance of developing a photographic project. As a starting point for the workshop, we will explore the beautiful private gardens in the town of Santa Maria Maggiore.
Students are asked to bring along some photographs they consider to be their best, most significant work. These photos will then lead to discussions and reflections on the inspiration behind them. Jill will provide guidance, recommend tools and share her experience to help build a cohesive body of work where each photo connects with the next.
For added inspiration, and to immerse ourselves in the period when photography became popular, the models photographed will be in period costume.
