Wood carving is a true art form that has found a place within the Rossetti Valentini School. Artistic wood carving courses, taught by sculptor, furniture-maker and carver Franco Amodei, have been running since 1989. The last of Vigezzo’s master woodworkers, he has decorated churches and stately homes with his works. As a guardian of this ancient tradition, Franco, assisted by Felice Bergamaschi, teaches his art form in the carving workshop just inside the School of Fine Arts, a building that perfectly encapsulates the history and traditions of the valley.
